Who is Dothan Law Group?
Dothan Law Group is a Dothan law firm that represents people who have been hurt because of someone else’s carelessness and people who have been charged with a crime. Our office is on North Oates Street in downtown Dothan, and our clients come from Houston County and the rest of the Wiregrass.
We are local lawyers. Several of our attorneys were born and raised in Dothan, and our practice is built around the community we serve. When you call, you reach people who know the roads, the hospitals, and the courthouses you are dealing with.
How did Dothan Law Group get started?
In 2018, Niki Pierce and Raynor Clifton set out to build a different kind of firm. They wanted a modern practice that challenged the outdated structures of traditional law firms and that gave clients a collaborative team of attorneys instead of a single lawyer working alone.
That idea still shapes how the firm works. Niki Pierce, the firm’s managing partner, brings a background in civil litigation. Raynor Clifton began his career as a prosecutor in the Houston County District Attorney’s office before moving to criminal defense. Partners Jordan Reeves Brooks and Gantt Pierce focus on personal injury cases. You can read more about each of them on our attorneys page.
What do we value?
Our values are simple: clear communication, preparation, and accountability. In practice, that means:
- We listen first. Before we talk about strategy, we want to understand what happened and what matters most to you.
- We explain options in plain language. You should understand your choices and the trade-offs of each one.
- We keep you informed. We provide regular updates by phone or email, so you know your next step and your next date.
- We prepare. Whether a case settles or goes to court, the work starts with gathering the facts and the evidence early.
Why does hiring a local Dothan law firm matter?
A local firm knows the setting your case happens in. Many of our injury cases begin with wrecks on Ross Clark Circle, US-231, US-84, or US-431, and many of our clients are treated at Southeast Health or Flowers Hospital. Criminal cases in our area move through the Dothan Police Department, the Houston County Sheriff’s Office, and the Houston County Courthouse, as well as the courthouses in neighboring counties.
Being local also means being reachable. We are your neighbors, and we want you to be able to call us with a question and get an answer. See the areas we serve for the counties and towns where our clients live.
What does a team approach mean for my case?
It means your case benefits from more than one set of eyes. Our attorneys talk through cases together, share what they know about local courts and insurers, and check each other’s work. A former prosecutor can weigh in on how the other side may view a criminal charge; an injury attorney can help spot an insurance issue early.
You will still have a clear point of contact. Teamwork is meant to make your case stronger, not to make it harder to know who to call.
What cases does Dothan Law Group handle?
We handle two main kinds of cases:
- Personal injury, including car, truck, and motorcycle crashes, pedestrian and bicycle injuries, slip and falls and other premises cases, dog bites, and wrongful death.
- Criminal defense, including DUI and license issues, drug charges, assault, domestic violence, theft, and probation violations.
For personal injury cases we typically work on a contingency fee, meaning attorney fees are paid from a recovery. Personal injury consultations are free. For criminal defense, the consultation requires a fee, and representation is usually a flat or hourly fee. All terms are confirmed in writing before we begin.
